About Dr. Mastrolia
Dr. Rich Mastrolia is a board-certified Maternal-Fetal Medicine specialist with extensive experience caring for women with high-risk pregnancies. He earned his medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine, completed his OB/GYN residency at St. Luke’s Hospital, and his Maternal-Fetal Medicine fellowship at UMDNJ–Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
Throughout his career, Dr. Mastrolia has combined exceptional clinical care with physician leadership. Before joining Valley Perinatal Services as Division Director of Maternal-Fetal Medicine, he served as Maternal-Fetal Medicine Division Director for Advocate Aurora Health and Chair of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Aurora Women’s Pavilion.
Inspired by exceptional mentors during residency, Dr. Mastrolia found his passion in caring for medically complex pregnancies and helping improve outcomes for both mothers and babies. He was drawn to Valley Perinatal Services because of its visionary, patient-centered approach, collaborative culture, and commitment to clinical excellence.
Dr. Mastrolia believes meaningful human connection is the foundation of healing. He creates a compassionate, supportive environment where patients feel heard, informed, and involved in every step of their care. Through education, evidence-based medicine, and shared decision-making, he helps families navigate complex pregnancies with confidence.
His clinical interests include cardio-obstetrics, where he has helped develop centers of excellence for cardiac care in pregnancy. He also performs chorionic villus sampling (CVS), amniocentesis, and cervical cerclage placement. In addition to patient care, he has extensive experience in medical education, physician leadership, and quality improvement initatives.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Mastrolia enjoys traveling, wine collecting, cooking, fitness, and attending heavy metal concerts with his family. He and his wife, Justine, have three children. A first-generation American and the son of Italian immigrants, he speaks fluent Italian and enjoys traveling to Italy and Australia to visit family.
